[Monitoring] Skillable's Azure-related services may soon be impacted by the current Microsoft outages. Labs and services in Microsoft Azure are currently functioning as expected, but these services may become unavailable as the outage persists. Datacenter services have not been impacted and are expected to remain unaffected through this Microsoft outage. Skillable engineers are online and engaged with Microsoft contacts to stay up to date as the outage develops.

Skillable engineers will perform necessary network maintenance in our EU North and APAC datacenter 7/21/2024, 12am UTC to 6am UTC. While we do not expect long durations of downtime this work may unexpectedly impact connectivity to the datacenter during this time. Skillable engineers will be actively monitoring and working to mitigate any connectivity issues as they arise.

[Resolved] From Azure: Impact Statement: Starting at approximately 21:56 UTC on 18 Jul 2024, a subset of customers may experience issues with multiple Azure services in the Central US region including failures with service management operations and connectivity or availability of services. Current Status: We are aware of this issue and have engaged multiple teams. We’ve determined the underlying cause. A backend cluster management workflow deployed a configuration change causing backend access to be blocked between a subset of Azure Storage clusters and compute resources in the Central US region. This resulted in the compute resources automatically restarting when connectivity was lost to virtual disks. Mitigation has been confirmed for all Azure Storage clusters, the majority of services are now recovered. A small subset of services is still experiencing residual impact. Impacted customers will be continuing to communicate through Azure service health portal.
